Since her son’s death, Theresa Burke has been helping to raise awareness of the devastating and long-lasting impact of drugs. Theresa's son Kealan died a week after turning 22 in February 2009.
In the last year of his life, Kealan was confined to a nursing home and received round-the-clock care as a result of drug abuse. Theresa is using her family tragedy to educate people of all ages about the frightening consequences of all drugs.
Thanks so much to Theresa who visited our students at Greenbank campus and to Southern Regional College Students' Union for organising the visit.
