Southern Regional College’s Greenbank Campus recently hosted the annual Inter-Campus SkillBuild Competition, which saw SRC students and local schools compete in 22 separate multi-trade competitions.
This annual event is the largest multi-trade competition in the UK for young students and apprentices. The first stage of the Skill Build Competition drew together students from all campuses of SRC. The competition included Brickwork, Wall & Floor tiling, Joinery, Plastering, Electrical, Carpentry, Hair & Beauty, Motor Vehicle and many more!
The winners of the 22 competitions were determined by industry professionals as they examined the skills and work of the students.

- Painting & Decorating: Jacqui Hawthorne

- Cabinet Making: Issac Bingham
The second stage of the SkillBuild competition involved local secondary schools competing in 13 crafts such as Carpentry, Joinery, Brickwork, Engineering, Plumbing Pipework, Cookery, Hair & Beauty and Horticulture. This was part of the College's School Partnership’s Programme and involved schools from Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon and Newry. The talent and skills displayed during this event was exceptional! There were several worthy winners from St. Patrick’s Banbridge, Markethill High School and St. Mark’s High School Warrenpoint, just to name a few!
Special congratulations to all our winners and participants within the 2022 Skill Build Competitions. The winners will now compete in the Regional Heats, against other Colleges in Northern Ireland.
