Overview

The City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration is a fully funded Women Returners Programme. It aims to empower women who wish to return to the workplace by enabling them to achieve an accredited qualification alongside invaluable work experience.

The programme runs for 25 weeks. Participants will attend the Portadown campus from Monday to Friday for 17 weeks of training from 9:30 – 13:15. Participants will work towards achieving the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration. The College will then provide suitable employers for the students to embark on a work placement. Students will be placed with an employer for a 7 week placement which will run from Monday to Friday 9:30 - 13:15. Participants will then return to College for one week for sign off.

All participants will be entitled to £175 per week training allowance plus childcare and travel expenses (if applicable). Participants will also have one week's leave during mid-term break which is week commencing 10 February 2025 and two weeks leave at Easter which are weeks commencing 14 April and 25 April 2025.

Participants will have a mixture of exams and assignments to complete throughout the duration of the course.

Funded by the Skills Fund, aligning with the Minister’s Economic Vision.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above or the Essential Skills equivalent. Applicants must upload these certificates onto the SRC application portal when applying for the programme.

Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of MS Office.

Eligibility for this course also includes:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on or before 1st July in the year of proposed entry to the course.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been a resident in the UK for at least three years OR is a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.

Assessment for all areas will be through exams and assignments.

This programme can help participants succeed in a support role in any size or type of organisation. Job roles secured may include: Secretary, Receptionist, Administrator, Personal Assistant or Office Supervisor/Team Leader or Manager.
