Overview

The Wet Trades Level 2 Diploma Traineeship is designed to provide individuals with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the wet trades industry. This traineeship offers a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in working with wet materials, such as plaster, cement, and concrete, to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in wet trade techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.

Learners will undertake training to learn skills such as: principles of building construction, information and communication; masonry cladding; building solid walling, isolated and attached piers; preparing and setting out masonry structures; construct cavity walling forming masonry structures; apply plastering materials to interiors; fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors; laying sand and cement screeds; applying plastering materials to external backgrounds; preparing backgrounds and wall and floor tiling.

The Level 2 Diploma Traineeship in Wet Trades combines practical training with theoretical study to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Trainees will work under the guidance of experienced professionals in the wet trades industry, learning to prepare surfaces, mix and apply wet materials, and achieve different types of finishes. They will also develop skills in using wet trade tools, such as trowels, mixers, and finishing tools.
