Overview
Tiling is a highly specialised job, with tiles being used worldwide in modern day architecture and construction. Floor and wall tiling involves laying various types of tiles including marble, ceramic and porcelain, in a diverse range of locations.
The Wall and Floor Tiling Level 2 Apprenticeship will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the field of wall and floor tiling. This apprenticeship offers a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in working with tiles and other related materials to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in tiling techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.
Throughout the apprenticeship, participants will learn the fundamental principles of wall and floor tiling, including surface preparation, tile installation, grouting, and finishing techniques. They will gain an understanding of different types of surfaces, tiles, adhesives, grouts, and tools used in the trade, as well as the various methods and techniques employed in achieving precise and visually appealing tile installations.
Applicants will need to be flexible and willing to travel to different locations. They will also need to be good with their hands and have an eye for detail. Applicants will also need to discuss various designs with clients or householders, so the ability to communicate well is important.
