Overview
The Sport Level 1/2 Extended Certificate Traineeship is aimed at those who are passionate about sports and aspire to build a career in the dynamic sports industry. This traineeship provides a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical training, and valuable work experience, allowing participants to gain a solid foundation in sports related skills and develop employability skills.
NI Traineeships deliver work-based learning, together with professional and technical qualifications, equating to a minimum of five GCSEs at grades A*- C, including English and maths. This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised, vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the sports sector or to progress to further qualification in subjects such as the level 3 courses in sports offered at SRC.
The traineeship also provides learners with opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life. This qualification includes core and specialist modules which cover aspects of knowledge, understanding and competency for employment within the sector. Learners will also be given the opportunity to visit a variety of leisure facilities and participate in recognised coaching courses, in an inclusive range of sports, both in the College and at other sports venues.
