Overview

The OCN NI Level 2 Award in Outdoor Play and Learning has been designed to enable the learner to understand the value of outdoor play for children’s learning and development and be able to promote, plan and deliver effective outdoor play activities.

This qualification is targeted at learners/practitioners who wish to or currently work with children where there is a focus on outdoor play and associated opportunities for learning and child development

Applicants must be aged 18 years or older.

This course is funded through the Skill Up programme. All applicants must meet the following entry requirements.

Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the course start date.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years; or are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.

Candidates are only permitted to complete a maximum of two free courses at a time.

This course is internally assessed and externally quality assured through a portfolio of evidence.

SRC offer many short continuous professional development courses to help enhance learners knowledge and practice. Students may wish to progress to the Level 3 Transition Award to Playwork, Level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
