Overview

This course provides recognition of the skills and knowledge needed to work in or develop a career in warehousing, including operating equipment and safety at work, processing orders, team leadership and managing the receipt and dispatch of goods.

A logistics operations apprenticeship leads to a career within the logistics sector, primarily dealing with the planning of transportation of goods from one location to another. This role is a critical part of the supply chain and helps to ensure that manufacturers have all of the ingredients or components required to make their products, that our shops, restaurants and hotels are fully stocked, and that homes across the country receive their letters and parcels on time.

Participants will also develop their problem-solving abilities, organisational skills, and attention to detail, essential for success in the logistics industry.

The programme combines on-the-job training with classroom-based learning to provide a comprehensive logistics education. Apprentices will work within logistics departments, under the guidance of experienced professionals, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills in practical scenarios. They will also attend theoretical training sessions, where they will study key topics such as supply chain management, procurement, inventory control, and transportation logistics.
