Overview
The Level 2 Traineeship in Light Vehicle is a practical and engaging programme designed to motivate and support learners to gain key knowledge and skills required by vehicle maintenance employers, specialising in light vehicles. This qualification is ideal for anyone interested in starting or developing a career in the motor industry, whether they want to maintain and repair different types of vehicles or fit and replace parts and tyres.
Throughout the traineeship, participants will learn the fundamental principles of light vehicle mechanics, including vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair procedures. They will gain an understanding of engine components, electrical systems, braking systems, suspension systems, and other critical aspects of light vehicle operations. Trainees will also learn about safety regulations and procedures specific to light vehicles.
Learners will also develop their transversal skills such as problem solving, time management, teamwork, communication and entrepreneurship.
This course provides vocationally related knowledge and skills, which will improve employability within these vocations. Successful completion of units or the full award can contribute to the achievement of a VCQ when employed.
