Overview
This unit will introduce learners to autistic spectrum conditions. It provides key areas of knowledge and explores important themes such as individuality, communication, behaviour and person-centred support.
This unit will give learners an understanding of the concept of autism as a spectrum. Students will explore the areas in which individuals with an autistic spectrum condition characteristically have difficulties, such as with communication and social interactions. Students will also learn about the behaviours which could be exhibited by individuals with autistic spectrum conditions. This learning is extremely important as it will enable students to reduce individual's stress levels, which will help them to develop social relationships, promoting their learning and development.
