The Tourism, Hospitality & Events with Specialisms - Tourism is an interesting programme designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the diverse and exciting field of hospitality and tourism. This foundation degree course offers students the opportunity to specialise in one or more areas of the tourism industry, enabling them to develop expertise in their chosen fields and pursue rewarding careers in various sectors.
Throughout the course, students will explore a wide range of subjects related to tourism. They will study topics such as hotel management, event planning, tourism marketing, customer service, destination management, sustainable tourism, and cultural heritage. Students will gain a deep understanding of the tourism industry, its global trends, and the challenges and opportunities it presents.
Tourism management is a key focus of the foundation degree programme. Students will learn essential management principles and practices, including operational management, financial management, human resource management, and strategic planning. They will develop the skills necessary to lead teams, manage resources, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and drive business growth in the tourism industry.
Typically, weekly contact hours are scheduled one day per week during term time.
