Overview
The purpose of the FAQ Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions, minor illness and injuries.
The course covers a wide range of topics related to emergency first aid, including assessing the scene of an incident, managing unconscious casualties, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), controlling bleeding, treating shock, and managing minor injuries. Students will learn how to recognise and respond to common workplace emergencies, such as accidents, injuries, and sudden illnesses, in a prompt and effective manner.
Throughout the training, students will gain practical experience through hands-on demonstrations, simulations, and interactive learning activities. They will learn how to assess the severity of an injury or illness, prioritise care, and administer appropriate first aid techniques. Emphasis will also be placed on communication skills, the importance of remaining calm under pressure, and the legal and ethical considerations of providing first aid in the workplace.
