Overview

The Data Analytics Level 5 Certificate is an advanced programme designed for professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in data analytics and its application in strategic decision-making. This course equips participants with the skills needed to analyse complex data sets, derive actionable insights, and drive business performance across various sectors.

This course will enable the learner to understand data types and be able to design and create relational databases and associated queries. The learner will also understand the characteristics of big data and how to use open-source frameworks to manage big data, how to design, develop and implement computer-based algorithms used in processing large volumes of data within industry today.

Applicants must have achieved:

At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, ICT Skills and Mathematics at Grade C or above.

Priority will be given to applicants who have completed the Level 4 Certificate in Data Analytics.

This course is funded through the Skill Up programme. All applicants must meet the following entry requirements.

Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the course start date.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years; or are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.

Candidates are only permitted to complete a maximum of two free courses at a time.

Students will be assessed through submission of coursework throughout the duration of the course.

Upon completing the Data Analytics Level 5 Certificate, participants may pursue further studies in specialised certifications in machine learning, big data analytics, or advanced data science, degree courses in data science, business analytics, or related fields or advanced courses focusing on specific technologies or methodologies in data analysis.

This certificate opens up a range of advanced career paths in the field of data analytics, including Senior Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Business Intelligence Developer or Data Analytics Consultant.
