Overview

The course is designed for learners who already have solid working knowledge of the CAD system and who would like to enhance their skills and gain a qualification at level 3.

Students enrolling on this course should have already achieved the City and Guilds Level 2 Award in CAD Using AutoCAD.

Students will learn how to:

Use AutoCAD and create accurate 2D drawings
Setup drawings to dimensions
Build a library of symbols that can be reused
Develop template files with standard settings
Coordinate reference drawings.

Students will be assessed though practical tests and a written exam.

Students may wish to progress their studies further by studying 3D modelling and then progress onto a Computer Generated Imagery course.

On Completion of the Level 3 Award in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) 2D, individuals may wish to explore advanced career opportunities that build upon their CAD skills. Potential career roles include:

CAD Engineer/Technologist
CAD Manager
BIM Technician
Structural Drafter
