Overview

In an era where AI is transforming industries, this course offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of artificial intelligence as applied to real-world scenarios. Participants will explore how AI can optimise processes, improve decision-making, and drive competitive advantage across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and finance.

The Artificial Intelligence for Industry Level 3 qualification will enable the learner to develop an understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its application. It is is designed for individuals seeking to understand the practical applications of artificial intelligence in various industrial sectors and will provide a solid foundation in AI concepts, tools, and technologies, equipping participants with the skills necessary to leverage AI for enhanced efficiency and innovation in their organisations.

It is preferable that applicants have basic IT skills.

This course is funded through the Skill Up programme. All applicants must meet the following entry requirements.

Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the course start date.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years; or are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.

Candidates are only permitted to complete a maximum of two free courses at a time.

Modules covered include:

AI readiness
AI and emerging technologies
Digital transformation
Machine learning and AI
Neural networks and deep learning
AI and its implications

Students will be assessed using assignments and class tests. Active engagement in discussions and group activities will contribute to overall assessment.

Successful students may progress to higher level qualifications in AI and information technology, such as the Level 4 Certificate in Artificial Intelligence offered at the College.

This course opens up a variety of career paths in the rapidly growing field of AI, including AI Solutions Developer, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Automation Specialist or AI Project Manager.
